Bhubaneswar: As the sacred city of Puri prepares to welcome lakhs of devotees for the annual Rath Yatra, Reliance Industries Limited, through the Reliance Foundation, has launched a wide-ranging initiative to enhance the overall experience for pilgrims and support personnel attending the 13-day festival.
Held every year in Odisha, the Rath Yatra draws millions of pilgrims from across India and abroad to witness the grand procession of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra, from the Jagannath Temple to Gundicha Temple.
This year, Reliance has partnered closely with the Puri district administration to provide essential services aimed at crowd comfort, hygiene, safety, and spiritual enrichment, reflecting its ongoing commitment to community service during large-scale religious gatherings.

Through thoughtful initiatives, we aim to make this sacred journey more fulfilling, safe, and comfortable for everyone involved.”
Key Initiatives by Reliance for Rath Yatra 2025:
1. Anna Seva – Nourishing Lakhs
Reliance Foundation is distributing hot, nutritious meals to lakhs of devotees and police personnel at six major locations along the Rath Yatra route. The initiative ensures that no pilgrim goes hungry during their spiritual journey.
2. Hygiene and Sanitation
To maintain cleanliness and public health:

Contactless sanitizers have been installed at food stalls.

Garbage bags and sanitation kits have been provided in coordination with municipal authorities.

Cleanliness drives and sanitation support are extended to police camps and common areas.
3. Volunteer-Driven Crowd Facilitation
More than 4,000 trained volunteers in identifiable uniforms have been deployed across the route. Their responsibilities include:

Managing hydration points to help devotees cope with the heat.

Distributing eco-friendly hand fans—over 1.5 lakh units—to ensure comfort in the hot and humid weather.
4. Support for Police and On-Ground Personnel
Reliance has set up 100 police aid posts, complete with shelters, to support the thousands of personnel deployed during the festival. These aid points also serve as help centers for pilgrims seeking assistance.

3,500 raincoats have been distributed to police and ground staff in anticipation of monsoon showers.

Refreshment kits are being provided to volunteers, municipal workers, and security forces working round the clock.
5. Navigation and Safety
Collaborating with local authorities, Reliance has installed:
