Chandigarh/Ludhiana: At Bank of Baroda, wellness isn’t just a one-day initiative—it’s a year-round priority. This year, in celebration of International Day of Yoga 2025, the Bank took another meaningful step toward nurturing a healthier, more balanced workforce by launching the ‘Rise with Yoga’ campaign.
Held across all offices on 21st June 2025, the Yoga Day celebrations were more than symbolic—they reflected the Bank’s deep and sustained commitment to employee well-being through its Employee Health & Wellness Framework.
A Culture of Wellness, Not Just an Event
Bank of Baroda has long believed that employee health is the foundation of professional success and personal fulfillment. In alignment with this vision, the Bank has implemented a comprehensive wellness framework that touches all dimensions of well-being—Physical Health, Mental and Emotional Wellness, and Preventive Health Initiatives.
In November 2024, the Bank launched daily live online Yoga and Meditation sessions led by certified instructors. These 30-minute sessions have been open not only to employees but also to their families, underscoring the Bank’s inclusive approach to wellness. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many employees making yoga a part of their daily routine.
Yoga Day 2025: A Day of Connection and Recognition
To commemorate the International Day of Yoga, Bank of Baroda hosted in-person yoga sessions at multiple locations, guided virtually by a professional yoga trainer. These sessions brought employees together—whether in office boardrooms, open spaces, or virtually—to reconnect with their bodies and minds through mindful movement.
But the celebration didn’t stop there.
As a token of appreciation, the Bank also recognized employees who have been consistently participating in the online sessions since November 2024. Their dedication serves as a shining example of how small, regular efforts can yield long-term health benefits. Their stories of improved focus, reduced stress, and better overall health have inspired colleagues across departments.
Introducing ‘Rise with Yoga’: A Movement for Everyday Wellness
The highlight of this year’s celebrations was the official launch of the ‘Rise with Yoga’ campaign—a wellness initiative designed to make yoga a part of employees’ daily lives. With the Bank’s 118th Foundation Day approaching on July 20, this campaign adds a deeper sense of purpose to the ongoing wellness journey.
‘Rise with Yoga’ is more than just a slogan. It’s a call to action.
It invites every Bank of Baroda employee to rise—with discipline, with calm, and with the power of ancient wisdom adapted for modern life. The campaign will feature:
-
Daily guided yoga videos
-
Mindfulness practices and breathing techniques
-
Wellness challenges and peer-driven motivation
-
Inspirational stories from employees who’ve embraced the practice
By integrating these resources into daily work routines, the campaign aims to build a workplace culture where wellness is not an extra task—but a part of how we work and live.
Leadership Speaks: A Vision for Employee Wellbeing
On the occasion, Shri Lal Singh, Executive Director at Bank of Baroda, shared his perspective on the importance of integrating wellness into workplace culture:
“At Bank of Baroda, the health and welfare of our employees is our top priority. Yoga offers numerous benefits – it improves fitness, reduces stress, and promotes overall well-being – that contribute meaningfully to both personal fulfillment and professional excellence. Our focus on our employees’ health and wellness represents our commitment to creating an environment where every employee can thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally.”
His message reinforced the idea that wellness is not just an HR initiative—it’s a leadership priority.
Looking Ahead: Building a Healthier Tomorrow
With the ‘Rise with Yoga’ campaign now underway and momentum building toward the Bank’s 118th Foundation Day, the focus on wellness continues to grow stronger. Whether through yoga sessions, recognition programs, or peer encouragement, Bank of Baroda is setting a powerful example of how organizations can care for their people—beyond the workplace.
In an era where workplace stress is high and work-life balance is constantly being redefined, Bank of Baroda is showing that old wisdom—like yoga—can be the key to new, healthier ways of living and working.
